About Us

In April 2000, the organization identified the need to effectively manage the documents and books that had accumulated in the various offices and departments at the Office of Utilities Regulation. This resulted in the establishment of the OUR?s Library. The library was initially small, but has since evolved to an Information Centre, comprising both Library and Records Management.

The official launch of OURIC took place on October 16, 2004.

* To support the mission of the Office of Utilities Regulation, which is: "To contribute to national development by creating an environment for the efficient delivery of utility services to the customers while ensuring that service providers have the opportunity to make a reasonable return on investment."
* To ensure conformity with the Access Information Act
* To continue to be the regional Resource Centre for utility regulation
* To provide the most suitable and accurate information on utility regulation
* To provide our clients with timely, accurate and relevant information on utility regulation
