OUR wants report on Seaview Gardens billing issue
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has asked the Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) to provide a report on the circumstances which led to inflated bills being issued to residents of the Seaview Gardens community in St. Andrew.
The company has been asked to explain to the regulator how it plans to provide redress in this matter and what steps it plans to implement to prevent a recurrence.

OUR issues debt settlement advisory to JPS
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has advised the Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) that it is illegal to require an applicant for service to discharge the indebtedness of the previous occupant of the premises who had the contract for the supply of electricity as a condition of the new applicant receiving service.

OUR investigates life cycle of Claro prepaid credit
The Office of Utilities Regulations (OUR) has written to Telecommunications provider Claro in furtherance of investigations into the life cycle of prepaid credit sold by the company.
Over the past few weeks the Office of Utilities Regulation has fielded concerns from several customers of the mobile company who claimed that the life of the prepaid credit was shortened by the company without due notice.

Telecommunications Appeals Tribunal dismisses Digicel's appeal against OUR decision
The Telecommunications Appeals Tribunal has dismissed an appeal from Mossel Jamaica Limited t/a Digicel against a decision of the Office of Utilities Regulation dated September 02, 2004, which had sought to declare it and other mobile public voice carriers dominant in call termination services.

OUR rejects JPS compensation claim
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has rejected a claim from the Jamaica Public Service Company Ltd. (JPS), which was seeking to recover J$4,273 million from consumers under the Z-factor provision of the All Island Electricity Licence of 2001 in respect to payments made to its workers following a reclassification exercise.

The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has received from the Jamaica Public Service Company Ltd. (JPS), the detailed report it requested on the recent load shedding activities which caused disruptions in the electricity supply to customers islandwide. The JPS was required to provide the OUR with information on: the daily/hourly load projection for February, the available capacity, the reserve capacity, plant constraints, plant maintenance schedule as well as any transmission or network constraints.

Media Release: “OUR forwards to Transport Minister its recommendations for bus and taxi fare increases”. Friday, November 13, 2009
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has forwarded to the Minister of Transport and Works, the Hon. Mike Henry, its recommendations on the applications for fare increases from the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) and three associations representing route taxi operators.
Those associations are the National Association of Taxi Operators (NATO), the National Council of Taxi Associations (NCOTA) and the Route Taxi Association of Jamaica (RTAJ).
The JUTC in its application sought a fare increase from $50 to $70 for adult passengers and from $15 to $20 for concessionary passengers.
