Regulation, Policy, Monitoring and Enforcement
The Department's primary function is to advise the Office on Regulatory Policy, to analyze, monitor and evaluate the economic, financial and technical performance of all regulated utilities and sectors. Additionally, it has responsibility to develop tariff models, set tariffs and carry out a range of technical functions to support the Office. The Department is headed by the Senior Director, Regulation and Policy and is organized into four functional areas - Telecommunications Markets, Electricity Regulation, Water and Transport Regulation and Numbering Administration/Technical Support. It is staffed by critical professionals comprising economists, financial analysts and engineers. The routine functions of the Department are organized to maintain currency in the information on the financial, economic and technical performance of the companies.
